What the framework covers

What the framework covers

The framework provides B2C licences for betting, gaming and certain lotteries, remotely or in person, together with B2B and charitable licences. Categories do not all open simultaneously. Some existing permissions therefore continue temporarily through Revenue, An Garda Síochána or the District Courts.

How to check an offer

How to check an offer

Identify the product and its transition date first. Then consult the relevant GRAI licensing section and, where the activity still sits under the previous regime, the legacy authority named by GRAI. An application submitted through the operator portal is not an issued licence.

What not to infer

What not to infer

The new framework prohibits certain practices and strengthens safeguards, but obligations apply to licensees according to the rollout timetable. Do not infer approval from a company saying it has applied or from its possession of an older permission.
